Junior College Courses :

The Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association Mumbai established the Degree College in 1959. The Junior College was started in 1976 and it is attached to the Degree College.

The Junior College is recognised by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune and by the Govt. of Maharashtra.

The Courses offered are : Arts, Science, Science(Bifocal Vocational), Commerce, H.S.C. Vocational.



College Terms :
First Term : 13th June, 2011 to 22nd October, 2011 (Both days Inclusive)
Second Term : 14th November 2011 to 30th April 2012 (Both days inclusive)
There will be a winter break from 24th December 2011 to 31st December 2011
(both days inclusive).

 

F.Y.J.C. Arts :


(A) Compulsory Subjects :-
(1) English
(2) Marathi or Hindi
(3) Environment Studies

(B) Four Optional Subjects :-
(1) Economics
(2) History or Psychology
(3) Logic or Hindi or Sanskrit
(4) Geography or French or German
Note: (1) Students can select maximum three languages as per the scheme given.
(2) Students can select Hindi either as compulsory subject or optional subject, not in both places.

F.Y.J.C. Science :

F.Y.J.C. Science (Bifocal - Vocational) :


This college conducts Vocational Courses in Electronics and Computer Science at + 2 Stage. (Electronics : 90 seats, Computer Science: 50 seats)

In case of Electronics the first 25 students on merit (as per rules prescribed by the Government from time to time) will not have to pay any additional fees. Next 65 students will have to pay Rs. 15,000/- per annum as additional fees for this subject.

All students selected for Computer Science will have to pay Rs. 15,000/- as additional fees for this subject. The additional fee is to be paid only when the student is finally selected for these subjects. All students selected for Electronics & Computer Science need to pay Rs.2,400/- per annum as development Fees and Rs.20 for vocational fees.

Provision for teaching the vocational subjects
(i) Electrical Maintenance (EM)
(ii) Mechanical Maintenance (MM)
(iii) Scooter and Motor Cycle Servicing (SMCS)
will be made as per instructions received from the Government.


Students who successfully complete the bifocal vocational courses are eligible for admission to the higher class F.Y.B.Sc. at the University level and also for Engineering. All Science students desirous of joining Vocational Courses will apply on a separate form available at the time of admission. List of students selected for the Course will be notified in due course. Subjects to be offered by a student seeking admission to Bifocal-Vocational Course are as under :

F.Y.J.C. Commerce :

(2) Mathematics & Statistics or Secretarial Practice
(3) Organisation of Commerce
(4) Book-keeping & Accountancy.

N. B. :-
It is advisable that students getting less than 100 marks in Mathematics in the S.S.C. examination do not opt for subject Mathematics but opt for S.P. S.Y.J.C. Arts/Science/Commerce. Students of the S.Y.J.C. Class in Arts/Science/ Commerce are required to offer the same combination of subjects as offered by them in the F.Y.J.C. class. However, Commerce students may offer Secretarial Practice in place of Maths & Stats.

 

 



H. S. C. VOCATIONAL COURSE (M.C.V.C / + 2 VOCATIONAL COURSE)


1. Aim of the Course :-
The main aim of the course is to divert a sizeable number of students from the University Arena and provide them with the necessary useful skills for being self employed. The students completing these vocational courses will also be eligible to continue their higher education beyond 12th Class ie. in the B. A. & B.Com. degree course of the University.


These students will be considered for F.Y.B.A. / F.Y.B.Com. only if the seats are available after granting admission to H.S.C. Pass students of this college (Arts/Com. Streams.) and admission will be granted on merit basis. It is hoped that the students successfully completing these new vocational courses will be able to undergo apprenticeship training on stipend in order to secure jobs. Technical group HSC passout will get direct addmission to 2nd year Diploma Engg.


2. Courses :-
The students are allowed to offer the following Central Government sponsored minimum competency based + 2 vocational courses.
(1) Electronics Technology (20 seats)
(2) Maintenance & Repairs of Electrical Domestic Appliances (20 seats)
(3) Accountancy and Auditing (20 seats)
(4) Banking (20 seats)
(5) Office Management (20 seats)


3. Course Content: STD. XI & STD. XII :-
A student has to offer 7 papers carrying 100 marks and of 3 hours
duration. The 7 papers are as follows :
(1) English

(2) Marathi / Hindi

(3) General Foundation Course,
(4) Enviornment Education and

(5), (6), (7) Vocational Papers, I, II and III including practicals.

Total 55 periods per week, each period being of 40 minutes, are assigned. Each paper of the vocational course carries 12 periods and each of the language papers carries 5 periods. Syllabi are prepared by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
